I teach Leadership, Law, Psychology, Social Justice and Genocide Studies at Lambrick Park Secondary in Victoria, BC. I’m a pretty huge fan of fishing, camping, photography, cooking and travelling. This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa and I’m pretty stoked to be able to take students to this part of the world.
One of my favorite things to do is to travel to other countries. I love to meet new people and learn about how they live. I enjoy trying new foods and starting a conversation with a local. I hope that this trip changes the way I look at Africa. I hope that I become more grateful for what I have here in Canada. But, above all I hope that I have a lot of fun because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to central Africa.
My name is Mukady-Ginew, meaning Standing Golden Eagle in Ojibwa. I look forward to learning about the true and accurate history of the land.
My name is Darcie Looyen and I just graduated from Lambrick Park. I love dogs, sleeping, complaining and binge watching shows. Although I’m not supposed to pet any dogs in Africa, I am looking forward to admiring them from afar.
I am looking forward to this trip and to travelling around Africa, learning new things and using the new skills it gives me.
